Frequently Asked Questions
Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?▼
No. The entire merge happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly-powered JavaScript. Your PDFs are never sent anywhere — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool keeps working.
Is there a limit on file size or number of PDFs?▼
You can merge up to 20 PDFs at once with a combined size of 200 MB. Because processing happens on your device, very large files depend on your computer or phone memory rather than any server limit.
Can I change the order of the PDFs before merging?▼
Yes. After adding your files, use the up and down arrows next to each file to arrange them. The merged PDF follows exactly the order shown in the list.
Why does my password-protected PDF fail to merge?▼
Encrypted PDFs cannot be read without their password, so they cannot be merged. Remove the password first (open it in any PDF viewer with the password and re-save/print to PDF), then merge the unlocked copy.
Will merging reduce the quality of my documents?▼
No. Pages are copied into the new PDF without re-compression, so text stays sharp and images keep their original quality. The merged file size is roughly the sum of the input files.
